Hi
I´m the owner of a Music CD (Juanes). This CD is full of encrypted wma files. I can play the disc in my WinXP laptop without a problem.

How do i make my personal backup copy? all the cd rippers i tested, like EAC, failed.

Thanks
ArTolas

Welcome here.

Your drive must be capable of the protection this CD has.

What is the drive that you used for ripping the CD?

Do you know its protection type?

Hi

Well its a FUJITSU MHT2040AT (in the laptop) - Just a CD-Rom drive

Then i will burn the backup copy in a LITE-ON DVD 4x drive.

I´m gonna download some protection ID soft then i will post the results.

** UPDATED:
With Protection ID v4.0 i just scanned autorun.com and and the result is protected with SecuRom.
With A-Ray Scanner v2.0.1.0 "SecuROM 5.03.04.0001 detected -> D:\Autorun.exe"

WIth other files like wmds.dll no protection found

Thanks
ArTolas

SecuROM version 5? This is difficult. I don't believe if you can do this.

Really? No matter what the drive will be? Sounds interesting.

Yes it will make the disc "appear" to have no protection, then backup with your favorite burning application.

I wasn't aware that audio discs could be protected with SecuROM, as cd-players are incapable of reading density changes that are the protection.
