As the ones of these kind of softwares I've tried over the years are more or less "Increase my swap/page file by purging RAM" or just simple not working IRL as advertized... has anyone seen actual improvement by using these? I don't say these are all crap, but instead of it I'm asking if anyone has seen real benefict by using these?

I use one of those...but its more like a habbit...I am used to id...but I agree somehow with You Cooler...that You cant speed up system with this...the only improvement is that You may free up desired amount of ram (and that it unloads some modules and stuff from RAM which OS doesnt need anymore and which would normally stay in ram - OS wouldnt remove them from ram by itself)...but in that case...I guess Your HDD unit should do much more job...I guess the best way is MORE RAM...RAM RAM RAM....nothing but RAM...and...have i mentioned before...RAM!)

I have to admit, that it's now easy for me to say "buy more RAM", than it was before...
But IMHO, it's still true!
None of these "RAM Doubler/Booster/Manager" type programs can help as much as getting more physical RAM.

I dismiss auto-free RAM tools offhand ... the system is running low on RAM, the last thing you should be diong is demanding another large chunk of it.

On the other hand, executing an "on demand" RAM free before some memory-hungry applications, does seem to smooth their progress.

Actually, i did not even think about it, as that's always been my opinion!

Weird... am i forgetting my updates so soon? Where's the joy now? I need another upgrade "shot"!

Edit:
These software tricks could be useful for someone not having money to getting physical RAM, but sooner or later the trick fails. With Win9x I used to use internal trick of OS to make it use RAM more efficiently, instead of collecting huge swap file, but some softwares (read: games) did not like it much...

I couldnt agreed more...You got everything right this time...

And its also really strange...how fast the joy vanishes...I also upgraded some 14 days ago...and today...its like it was before...the joy vaporized...gimme another Gig....Fasttttttttt...

My next upgrade will be HDD....maybe like that one that Mogul bought....but I'll get only 1...cause I am not the best DJ in Virginia...
