Only a few words to say really here as the performance says a lot in itself, but after testing this and using it for a few weeks I am very impressed. External HDD’s have always been a “oh is that it” moment for me and although useful have ever really appealed to me… That is until now, I really liked this drive for its practicality and performance and it is at the top of the list on my recommendation for external drives. Very well made product and highly recommended.

Okay, I just ran down to BestBuy, and low and behold, they had the 300GB version for $249.99. I purchased two of them. ( I have a substantial music collection ).

I have begun the process of transferring my MP3 archive to the drive(s). It is super quiet, and super fast. (I see no difference between the speed in USB 2.0 or firewire)

A nice feature, you can loop two drives together, without using 2 separate cables to your computer, without much notice in speed loss.

I didn't install the backup software included with the drive, as I use Norton Ghost 9, and I wasn't really interested in their backup software.

Great drives so far!

Yes, I purchased two. But I have over 13,000 Audio CD's that have been archived, and I needed to back them up.

Two are few you should get a couple more.

I just got a WD2000JB and I am also happy with it.

So does that mean that whenever I wont find some old song or something...I may just call You MP3Mogul...and You will switch those 2 HDD in USB or Firewire ports...and voilaaaaaaa....transfer them to me...!?
