Maybe the Pioneer DVR-108 can burn RWs so fast,too...
I hope for a new Firmware

No, but the Pioneer 109 will. With DVD-R DL 4X too, as NEC 3520 with a future firmware.

I think NEC 3520 and Pioneer 109 will use the same chipset again.

Here are some news for 3520A...

"...PI/PIF error report abilities is still under investigating about ND-3520A. NEC has many requests from over two hundred users supporting this function. About DVD-R DL firmware, we are planning formal release at begin of March. It depends on fixing date of DVD-R DL specifications..."

As far currently stands, 3520A would have 4X DVD+RW and 6X DVD-RW (Z-CLV), no info about DVD-R DL writing speeds (2/4X?)
