how did u get fast error skip to work?? i turn mine on and in my log, it says
"fast error skip not supported with this hardware" (or something along those lines)
and it takes forever to extract a SD2 disc cuz i can't turn on Fast error skip....
is it supposed to take an hour to extract max payne??
and during those errors, u can hear my "liteon" start whining, stop whining, start, stop, etc....that can't be good for it can it???

if you are talking about the liteon, it does fast error skip using
hardware only.If you select software clone log says it does not support that method and it is then changed automaticly back to hardtware,you still have fast error ,but not the method you selected
Also if you set read retries to 0 you will get better read times.

The clone log in my post was an on the fly copy, and the reading
was done on a toshiba dvd 1502 which is quicker than the liteon.
but if you are using firware 5s07 you should read sd2 in sub 5 mins
with settings i have said above.

This is what clone log reports if i set fast error skip to software
note that it says it changes it to hardware.

LITE-ON LTR-24102B does not support current Fast Error Skip settings!
Changed error correction mode to Hardware Error Correction.

so does that mean i should use hardware correction for all the games, disregarding clony's settings??

if you are using the liteon as both reader and writer

you can only use hardware becouse it will not use any other
clonys settings are only a guide and should not be treated as law.

But always select hardware and tou will not get the report in clone
[does not support]like i said in other post ,when you get this report
it does not mean that the writer cant use f.e.s ,only that it has changed it to a mode that the writer supports.

wuts a good reader that u recommend, cuz i am having troubles with nhl2k2, using my liteon as reader and writer...
