Hrm, I saw Maxell 8x +R 15 disc spindles at Staples and Office Depot that were Made in Japan (=MAXELL 002). The Sony D11 is a good buy though, too bad about getting Ritek and CMC.

Here it is Tuesday, So I took the Maxells back to Office Depot and got my money back. I then headed to CompUSA to buy some more of the Sony discs (D11s) BUT they only had one pack left. I told the manager that I had wanted four of the 25 packs and would he let me have two fifty packs for the price of four of the 25 packs. ( I had checked the 50 packs and they had made in Japan on them) He said sure thing. The MID shows to be Yuden 000 T02. Gee I feel like a bandit

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I bought the TDK 8x DVD-R and Maxell 4x DVD-R cause they ran out of the DVD+Rs... I found that the TDK are TTG02 and the Maxell are TYG01.

Is there really much difference between - and +, if I just want to use it to backup data? not moives.

And, is the TDK TTG02s any good?

Welcome to CDRinfo's Forum!

Both media are excellent. I think your NEC can burn TDK at 16X and Maxell at 8X.

Since it is for data there is no difference.
