Greetings ,

Maybe You can help me making a decision 8-)
I am looking for a DVD-ROM drive that is capable of testing media for PI/PO erros and jitter .
The first idea was a LiteOn DVD-ROM drive and Kprobe , but i have read that the results are not the best .
Ok , the question is , can i run the Plextools Pro test suite using a Plextor 116A drive ( not the dvd burner ( 712/716 etc , but the rom drive 116 ) ??

thanks

Just found the answer to my question , Q-Check is not available for ROM drives , just for the recorders 8-(

Welcome to CDRinfo's Forum!

The truth is that it would be better to use the quality results for your own comparisons, no matter which the software or drive will be.

Thank you very much for your reply .
Actually that is what i intended to use it for .
I however was looking for the "best" possibility that is available to the public 8-)
Well , i guess i'll have to try the nero toolkit in combination with the aopen 1648 drive .

thanks again

I am telling that because it is too difficult to find a safe way. Even two totaly same drives, brand and model, it is highly possible to give different results.

Thank you again for input .
After reading a couple of messages and testing the capabilities of nero i have also seen that test result vary . I hope my expectations are not to high , i however was hoping to get some useable results . 8-)
I guess i have to accept that there is no real budget methd for doing so .

thanks again 8-)
