Well mate that's a serious problem indeed. I've used Princo's in my NEC 3500 Plextor 708 and Pioneer too, NEVER succeeded to read them correctly, NOT A SINGLE ONE! There are cheaper media with far more quality than them, I don't understand why they sell that make

Hard to say about Sony's or Samsung's DVDs. You never can be sure what are they. I have seen Sony with its own ID and Samsung to be Optodiscs. However both are better than Princo.

I still recomment Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Maxell.

Unfortunately Taiyo Yuden is a little bit hard to find in some countries, don't you agree?
I've encountered some fake TY's in the market though, mainly sold as Bulk w/o logo, or with a false TYG02 media ID (Budget), with the quality on the reverse side of course. Better be cautious

Anyway, I use TY for important data, never had a single problem, I highly recommend them too!

An0nym0us.......Princo DVDs are like Cow poop. You can't do much with them other than Burn them when they dry out. At least you can use cow poop in your flower beds, and princos are not even any good for that. Buy some of the Sony DVDs, even thier worst is still good. No more Princos unless you like to throw away money. OK

If you can't burn and read any disk you should try with DVD Lens Cleaner Disk.
Maybe dirty lens.

TY prices start from 0.38 eur. till 1.35 euros here in Greece.

Changing your burning s/w won't help at all nor cleaning the lens (not necessary after all).

You might get a chance to read some of them by changing the drive's firmware, but the chances are very few because the problem lies on the media, not the drive.
Good luck!
