VCDEASY - ??? No mention of CDRWin 5 in there.
CDRWin 5 has been hotly debated in newsgroups - it is NOT a derivative of CDRWin 3.x or the apparently abandoned 4.0 alpha, as it's based on the PADUS engine - and it is lacking in many areas where the proper "CDRWin" was the answer - areas now being addressed by programs such as
www.burnatonce.com - BurnatOnce
and
http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/axatis/XProject/XDuplicator/ "Xduplicator"
Both of these rely on the CDRDAO code - which the original CDRWin allegedly leeches off without credit.
No, it seems to be CDRECORD that's mentioned, and a parallel was drawn between the recent update to CDRECORD, and an update to CDRWin.
The history of CDRWin 5 is even more clouded - with rumours that Jeff Arnold "author" of CDRwin - was either ripped of by, or sold out to, the distributors, or had some sort of argument - certainly, CDRWin 3.x was dead in the water for a very long time!

CDRWin has had it's day!
