At monday you can expect benQ FE/TE testing utility...here is some first info about it: "...Regarding the writing process, there are two phase for drive, firstly the beam of the laser must keep lock on the right position of the disc, ( for drive, it's the ability of servo, for media , it's the mechanical property ), then the next challenge for Drive and Media is the " Writing Power Control " and " dye-combination ". Then the final result is Jitter, PIE/PIF, POF, ... In other words, even we could provide good writing strategy for specific media, if our drive can't lock the right position of media, the final writing result would be possible very bad. TE/FE , TE means " Tracing Error ", FE means " Focus Error " , the ideal case would be horizontal line form start to end.. in most case, the the line would be little high at outer. If you see the TE/FE is jumpy, we can say the process is not good. How do we judge TE / FE ? , now we define the critical of TE is 450, FE is 500 , and the tested disc would be reported Not Recommend if there are two over-spec data occurred..."
