The recently posted v2.27 firmware for NEC ND-3500AG supports Bitsetting for DVD+R/+RW/+R9 media:








Does it work?

The answer is YES, burned DVD+R/RW media with Nero 6.3.1.25 and both came up with DVD-ROM bitsetting, enjoy

Are you sure it does not support Ritek DL ?

Out of all the DL burners I have here, the one that performs best on Ritek DL media is the Liteon 1633s on firmware BS0H. Keep in mind earlier firmware than this does not do Ritek DL well.

I don't count that NEC will eventually support Ritek DL at 3500 firmware, consider that Ritek DVD+R 8X/16X media supported only at 4X

Alternative you could use v2.C7 and upcoming v2.C8 that support Ritek DL and include SL bitsetting

:( emperor, side note, twice now, with memorex dvd-r's , when I was burning an image, they crapped out on me like after 50% done around in dvd decrypter. Any idea of what could have happened?

That was the best news I heard this week!
But, how can I set the booktype for +RW? I'm using Nero 6.3.1.25, only the booktype section doesn't exist...
Are there any plans for a +RW tab in WinBType or DVDInfoPro?

What liggy reports its false, please look at thispage, 207 which has same writing strategies as 227 doesn't support Ritek D01 at 4X, but at 1X ->Writing not possible

That is correct, not booktype setting is allowed for +RW, but...I burned a disc with Nero 6.3.1.25 and the burned disc had DVD-ROM booktype, which makes me think that it set automatically, please also test this and report...
