I have flashed the firmware for 2C7 that lets the booktype of DVD+R to DVD-ROM. I also want use the maddog one that uses the Ritek and bitsetting SL. So which one should I use? Can I use both of them without overlapping one another?

You can use the firmware v2.78 from TDK 1616N.

the v2.c7 also supports Ritek DL media, so its better and newer than MadDog v2.F8

So what does the 2.78 offer? What does the 2.c7 offer? Which is better? Or can I have both at the same time?

The 2.78 is newer than 2.C7, contains newer writing strategies, but 2.C7 includes Bitsetting for DVD+R/RW formats, so..it depends at what you need.
