Apart from this I would suggest the 24X or 32X speed for your CD recordings.

Is there any restriction on the types of media for CD recording ?

Something is very wrong when NEC limits TY CD-Rs to 32x, but allows CMC to burn at 48x...

And apparently it handles two types of 32x speed writing strategies:

It's doing 32x Z-CLV with:

FUJIFILM CD-R 700MB 52X SILVER DISC
JEWEL CASE 10-PACK
MADE IN GERMANY

Code : 97m26s45f
Disc Type : CD-R
Usage : General
Recording Layer : Dye Type 5: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
Recording Speed : n/a
Capacity : 79:59.73
                      703 MB
Additional Capacity : n/a
Overburn Capacity : 82:55.33 (728 MB)

It's doing 32x P-CAV with a Plextor disc bundled with my Plextor Premium:
PLEXTOR CD-R 700MB
129-0362-00
BUNDLED (PLEXTOR PREMIUM)

Manufacturer : Hitachi Maxell
Code : 97m25s29f
Disc Type : CD-R
Usage : General
Recording Layer : Dye Type 9: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
Recording Speed : n/a
Capacity : 79:59.74
                      703 MB
Additional Capacity : n/a
Overburn Capacity : 82:55.06 (728 MB)
