hello everyone!

i'd like to ask if anybody experienced some errors during disc quality test of Nero 6
on a NEC ND2510A drive? i just bought this (bulk) drive and flashed
it using Herrie's 2.16 update.

so far, in all the disks i've tried (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R), I would get
a "Error Initializing Test". on some discs, this happens during the start of the test while
on others near the end of the test.

i haven't tried this test though using the original FW of the drive..

but the "scan disc" test seems ok...

i also get "invalid parameter" error on some tests..

please help!

thanks! i really found this forum helpful in choosing my drive...

anyway, i used a variety of media.. Taiyo Yuden, Imation (Ricoh), Generic (Verbatim), Imation (CMC)...

btw, the error i got from some of the tests is: INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST (052600)

the disc quality test ran till 99% on the generic (verbatim) CD-RW disc when the initialization error happend.

NEC drives cannot be used with Nero CDSpeed Disc Quality mode

do you happen to know the reason for this? is this FW related or Nero still doesn't fully support NEC drives?

i'd really like to check the quality of the burns i make. can you suggest a software
that has cd quality check support for NEC drives?

NEC doesn't support the Disc Quality Test, they need to change firmware
