How do I re-encode mds files to mpeg1? Is it in the decryption software or Alcohol 120%?

I apologize for being so vague. I was reffering to Laffin Assassin's post regarding the new decrypter version. My DVD movies have a mystical property to them in that when I loan them out they seem to disapear. If I make backups can I play them on a regular DVD player or do I have to play them on my PC only?

OK! I have all of the above. Now I just need to figure out how they all go together to get my backup to MPEG format. With all the money I'll be saving on not having to keep buying movies and games over and over I'll can get that Plextor DVD drive I've been waiting for. Thanks guys

Minos! ...I just spent the last few hours reading the suggested guide and other articles....Great stuff One last question (for now)....In your opinion...regarding dual layer drives, would you recomend Sony's DRU 700A or LiteOn 832s, or neither. I value your opinion. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

One big differance though!...The price. Does different firmware justify a higher price?

Thanks again for the input.
