Correct minos and lexor, usually at the bad, we list the negatives and not fixable problems (unless manufacturer decides to change it)

Going over the review again I noticed a little discreptancy in stats on the drive.

On the very first page we can see in the table following the picture of 2 NEC chipsets it says, "CD recording 48X", but above on the same page, and later on in CD Recording Tests section we see reported speed of 32X max. So is there some sort of cut down version of that chipset in 108?

Probably not important anyway, just found it strange.

Probably a software glitch, the recording speed for CD is 32X not 48X

@minos: are you saying I should get it or the reviewer? There are 2 tables on first page of the review, one says 32 the other 48. The problem is that the second table (beneath the photo of 2 NEC chips) looks like stats from some press-release/whitepaper, so I was wondering if the chips are actually intended to support higher speeds, which could hint at Pioneer wanting to bring a revision in a little while (once it get's this revision and its kinks worked out).

The chipsets allow 48X writing with CD-R, but Pioneer has decided to use only up to 32X, this won't change, probably with the next generation, DVR-109

diofla you need un-official firmware to support bitsetting (PIODATA), Flash member has instructions how to do it
edcespedes try upgrade the Nero to the latest build and just use DVD Shrink

DVD Shrink is FREE, which makes it better, Nero cannot backup CSS protected titles

Hi Guys,

I tried to burn a CDR with a small overburn, and it failed. I tried it a couple of times.
Does this drive supports overburn ?

Thanks
