I just bought 100 pieces of the Verbatim 40X 700 mb crystal cdr - they are blueish on the surface, but not nearly as blue as the old Verbatims.

Is there any problems with the Verbatims disc when udes in HIFI cd players - maybe the blue surface will give the cd player a hard time reading it or.....?

I've always used Verbatim disc for data storage - but never for audio recording - so I don't know how well suited they are for this purpose ?

CD players don't "care" what colour the bottom looks like, they "care" more about reflectivity, or the dye used in the CD-R. Did the box say AZO on it anywhere?

It says: Crystal protection + Super Azo = Double protection on the Verbatim I got.

The playing surface is not as blue as the old Verbatims I got, and the upside surface is almost Platinum shiny - quite beatufil actually.

Hope they will do well in my audio HIFI cd player !

Well about playbility of verbatim disc's check the cd-r for car topic.
Lighter blue means more light coming back but also better reflectivity. So it can work positive in some players and in some players it works negative.
