The Mitsumi CDR is serious bad news. I picked up a spindle thinking it's a good deal because Mitsumi makes good drives, and the CDR says 48x and it's cheap. The 48x part is a real joke. First I tried it with a Ricoh 7200a. The drive drops right to 12x. That's 1/4 of the marked speed. I thought it must be old firmware on the drive that doesn't know this media type. Then I tried it on a Yamaha F1. At 44x and OWSC on, it's actually written at 20x. That causes thousands of C2 error throughout the whole disk. Dropping down to 16x makes things a little better, but still causes hundreds of C2 error if you write beyond the 74 minute mark. I don't have any confidence in this stuff at all... Andy Wai
