I have like a 100 taiyo yuden discs that are cyanine...

None of the burned ones have worked properly.. aLL have errors/unreadble sectors...

The guy said it would work with 24x and I only tried burning at 24x

so is it a speed problem or incompatibility problem?
I heard taiyo yuden was like A+ grade discs..
I have a liteon 24102B with latest firmware.

SnowHawk, these discs should be fine in your drive. You mention that you have problems buring this particular media, what about with other media? Have you made a recent system change? Please help with a little more information regarding your system/operating system so that we may help you further. Thank you for the post, and the opportunity to assist you.

Hmm....... I tried burning at lower speeds and it works.....

When I burn at 12x there are 0 errors
at 16x there are errors at the beginning of the disc.....
the guy said these discs should work up to 32x

I guess these taiyo yudens are just crappy or something......

I didn't change my system recently... never had taiyo yudens before though... I usually use Prodisc.. They are ok at 24x... the Taiyo yudens at 24x have many unreadable sectors in the middle of the disc.
12x is a perfect burn

thats weird...

And you have DMA enabled and you have no buffer underrun problems?

I'd stick with ProDisc if I were you, they are (in MY opinion) the best ratio of Price to Quality. They're absolutly awsome, both the factory and the discs they make. You can overclock a Prodisc CD-R without too many errors too! (as in, burning faster then certified). I havn't had any problems with Taiyo Yuden personally, but I don't want to shell out that kind of cash for them either

Most the time at best buy they go for 12.99 for 50 with a 10$ rebate (one per house). Making them 2.99 I got 246 now [:p]

But it sounds like something is wrong with your set up. What is your set up on your computer? What channel is the cdrw on and with what else? Is it in UDMA 02 on the computer set up?
