Yes, at this moment Mitsubishi have already release...at extremely high prices. Did you know that the Sony that you are planning to buy is a LiteOn?

I didn't quite understand. Sony is Liteon. As I know , they are 2 brand name , right?

I'm assuming it is a rebagged Liteon. Correct? If so, it is basically Sony contracting out the work to Liteon.

Possibly, hopefully we will have the first samples soon here for testing

Its rather interesting that NONE DL writer has RITEK ID as supported DL media, only MKM and RICOH...

Only surprising if you havn't noticed the trend of drive makers to not support Ritek so well already as of late Mind you I don't know all the reasons why this is happening, but I'm seeing more and more instances of poor and limiting support for Ritek media.

Maybe RITEK won't have RITEK ID for DL but something else?? For example RICOHJPN?

Hrm, my sources suspect otherwise... but that isn't to say that Ritek won't use one code initially and switch to a new code later when/if it's better supported...

Yes since RITEK supposed to ship DL media next weeks, and since existing DL writers doesn't include RITEK ID code at supported DL media, what will happen?

Maybe every DVD+R9 burner manufacturer will make a new firmware *JUST* for Ritek
