I just purchased a Lite-On LTR-48125W 48x-12x-48x CDRW and wanted to know in your opinion, what are the best CD-R and CD-RW media for this product so I can record music and copy games using Feurio and either Clone CD, Nero, or CDRWIN.

I will probably use Clone CD more than the other programs for copying games.

T.Y. ALWAYS! however, I would shy away from Ritek as they have given me problems in my LiteON 40125S (very simaler to your model). However, both ProDisc and CMC work FLAWLESSLY! This is all based on personal experience mind you, I'm sure there are people with LiteON Burners that have had problems even with Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs, so try a little bit of everything and make the choice yourself, that's the best advice I can give :)

Stay away from CMC discs, most users in the forum have problems with CMC produced media. It seems that only Dolphinius doesn't have problems with this media.

ok, to be honest, I finally had a CMC disc with a problem. It's been over 550pcs in the last month or so, and out of ALL those, 1 CD-R had 0.11% unreadable blocks (according to Nero CD Speed). And the only reason that happened was probably because I was writing 32X CD-Rs at 40X. Also, I had just changed my IDE Channels from PI0 only, to DMA. Ever since then all my CMCs come out 100% readable, no damaged blocks or unreadable blocks. If this keeps up, I'm going to significantly change my buying habits!

I don't even think that CMC blanks should be burned at 32x. 24x max in my opinion.

I don't think that you should burn CMC disc's at all.

Okay these disc's may be fine after burning. Still how good are they when put for 5 weeks outside your house. Which can be seen as an aging test. Now I can tell you the following no CMC disc made it to the finish line. Why I could burn some disc's without errors. Which was allready a wonder according to some friends. No CMC disc lasted longer than 2 weeks in the Dutch Weather( much rain and sometimes Sun.)
So I still can't recommend them.If some people are interested in more results of this foolish test than mail me. And I will put up the brands and the days lasted. (Maximum is 5 weeks since then it wasn't fun any more.)

I wanna see tests where you put the blank cds in Sahara Desert like condititions. I want sandblast tests, and 150 degree F temperature tests.

If I had the change I would really do this Sahara Desert test.
Just like some of my friends said how about a cold test. Do temperatures below -5 degrees celsius or 23 degrees F really destroy your cd-r's.

Could you recommend some disc manufacturers who develop T.Y. discs and/or put their logo on them to sell to consumers and where I could buy these discs online or in the U.S.?

fujifilm uses TY media.
they're on sale at bestbuy.
50 fuji 48x cd-r's for 12.99 plus 10.00 mail-in-rebate. 2.99 + tax.

cmc media sucks (IMHO). lots of cmc disks become unreadable after
certain period of time. TY media is also recommended for their
longetivity after the burn, not just writting quality.

Not always! We have Fuji media, made by Fuji, but they come directly from Japan. Possibly for the rest of the world, Fuji uses TY

im using an acer cd-r80 gold with 16xmulti speed. im burnng audio cd but my friends told me na may jitters or skips... are these caused by the media or on the write speed. i used 12x write.... any solution about this matter? im using a liteon 40125S model... please help me!!1

how are you burning the audio discs? direct disc to disc?

best way to do it would be to rip audio CD -> wav first and then burn. for PC, i recommend http://www.exactaudiocopy.de

no other software (cost=postcard to author) is better for ACCURATE ripping.

my files are in mp3 format and just using nero, i just drag it and let nero convert, is this procedur okay or better to convert it first?
