I was using few of my friends Memorex 100 Pack 32X..and i came accross this..

ATIP: 97m 26s 11f
Disc Manufacturer: Postech Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

Looks like Memorex is using a new factory for its 100Pack 32X. I did some research on Postech Inc. Looks like its a new company. Their site is: http://www.postech.com.tw/english/menu.htm

Well looks like MEmorex found itself a new partner.

with which burner, and if with the Yamaha F1, can you get me a readout of the speed that it was limited to so I can put it in with the OWSC Media list that I'm compileing.

Also would you happen to have a lite-on drive so that you can run a WSES test with?

*sigh... I should really get one of them liteon dvd-roms from dell... so lazy.

From the Postech site:

A piece of CD-R wides up into 650MB bytes capacity. Comparing his price with the price of 1.4MB/3.5s floppy disk , there is definitely clear to be understood that this CD-R runs very good profit per his excellent populative by the world.

Man, I'm SOLD!!![:p]

I bought a 200 pack of Prime Peripherals last year in that infamous OfficeMax rebate deal that in Maximum PC magazine. It took 6 months to get my rebate back because Prime was swamped with mail and had to get another company to process them.

Those CD-R's were only 16X and looked cheap but they burned fine at 16X speed (on my 24X Plextor) and all have held up with wear and abuse (in my car stereo). Memorex has been using Postech for at least a year. I got a 24X few blanks in a CD trade last year and they all burned fine. I rank them along with Ritek in quality, but I dont think they are as durable as Taiyo Uden.

BTW The best Memorex CD-Rs you should be looking out for are made by Taiyo Uden - the 50 packs have a screw top lid and have a opaque shirnkwrap around them. All say "Made in Japan" in the small print. These are as good as the ones they make for Fuji, TDK and Sony. If you can get them under 10 bucks you got a steal.
