I know most will disagree with me, but I choose Memorex. Mainly because I've had no problems with them whatsoever. Guess I got lucky.

Taiyo Yuden for me since they show decent results on nearly any given recorder ... although their +R media seems to be of better quality that their -R media.

Unfortunately these discs are rather expensive ... as YUDEN000T01 (4x+R) from Plextor or TYG01 (4x -R) from TDK. I haven't tried TYG02 (8x -R) yet but I doubt that there will be serious problems ... :)

In case of CD-R, I would expect the most popular media ID to be the "winner", since it would be easier to be found in the market and highly acceptable by the hardware for high speed recording. For DVD, the situation would be the same, considering we are talking about 4x and 8x discs. It would be interesting, however, to post the media brand you preffer, if not already listed in the poll options.

I probably would have chosen Optodisc, but it wasn't there. For outright quality I would deffinatly say Taiyo Yuden (which is what I chose) but for decent quality and very good pricing my personal favourite is currently Optodisc.

By far, Taiyo and Verbatim (Mitsubishi) are the highest quality DVD-R/DVD+R discs in the market today. When client's have a problem with another brand, we send them Verbatim media and their problems go away.
