Which media works at 44X for you? Try burning a full 80min disc and post your recording times, with OWSC on

well Verbatim Datalife plus 40x CD-R burns at 40.2x with OWSC on wih 1.0c - i've done 40+ CD-R burns so far :)

I've had excellent results with the TDK 24X, Fuji 24X and Memorex 24X Media (all TY Media) they all write at 44X with no errors.

Intenso 40x (Which are Prodisc's)also work Fine !!!
But still many Coasters with Ritek !!!

Files copied from Hard-drive to Yamaha in Nero !
Total Time 3.32

Nero on the Fly copying the disk I have just Burn't Above !
44x Total Time 3.31

Clone CD on the Fly using the same disk as above !
Toatal Time 3.08 Average Speed Reported 26.39 & 4645kb

The System I used Has :-
Yamaha CRW-F1E Writer....Lite-on 163D DVD
512 meg 333 DDR ram....Maxtor 160meg ATA 133 Hard-drive
AMD 2200xp+ CPU.....Gigabyte GA-7VRXP Motherboard
And Windows XP Pro !!!

Try to burn a full 80min disc and report back times. With v1.0B we had best results 3:03 and with new firmware we got best results 3:07-3:09 (with CRW-F1DX), so i am wondering if the 1.0C is slight slower than the v1.0B.[:I]

PS. All burns are from HD->CD-RW drive. (Data)

The following audio cd and data cd burn were accomplished with the following system:

P4 1.8 GHZ
512K DDR Ram
80GB Maxtor HD
Yamaha CRW-F1
Compaq MB (Intel Chipset)

For this test I used Fuji 24X Certified Media (TY Media)

1) Audio CD - Compilation time 78mins 27secs

Lead In reported at 32 seconds
Audio Burn stopped at 2:57
Lead Out time 6 secs

Total elapsed time: 3 mins 3 secs DAO method

2) Data CD - 683MB total, random file's consisting of 1MB - 8 MBs'

Data writing ended at 2:57
Lead In/Lead Out was 25 secs

Total elapsed time: 3 mins 22 secs DAO method

Composed of Files ranging from 30kB to 300kB

BTW, the PC#### TYs're locked in at 32x (4x), and PG#### TYs're locked in at 44x (?x)

haven't tried doing audio mastering mode with them yet.

well.. that post wasn't about the actual time it took to write, it was about what speed OWSC locked the media at, and trying to compile a list on the brand/manufactur/atpi and what speed it was locked to.

John just wanted the result for the actual burning time and only the fastest that you can achieve. I wanted the speed at which OWSC determined that the cd was safest to be written to for all discs.
