As you can see at
http://i4net.tv/yamaha-crwf1/Yamaha-CRW-F1-page2.html I shoved my Yamaha CRW-F1E internal ide drive into a USB 2.0 external cd-rom enclosure it's using the 1.0b firmware right now.
I'm using WinXP Pro I want to upgrade the firmware on my CRW-F1 but it's installed in USB 2.0 external drive.
My pc it's connected to
P4 2.26B Northwood
Abit BD7-II non-raid with IAA 2.2 drivers and USB 2.0 patch and drivers
512MB Corsair XMS3200PT cas 2-3-3
128MB X-Micro GF4 Ti4200 VIVO
2 x 80 Western Digital Caviar 800JB 8MB cache hdd
(in Lian Li RH58 Aluminium removable drive racks on Promise ATA100 controller)
Pioneer 16x 106s DVD-rom (primary master)
LiteOn 32x/12x/40x CD-RW burner (secondary master)
Chieftec/EYO AX01-SLD Aluminium Mid Tower Case
520W Topower Gold Dual Fan PSU
but step 0 says
quote:
0. <This step is for Windows 2000 and XP user -
in this case, the drive is connected to the secondary IDE cable as slave>
Open the "Control Panel" and double-click on the "System" icon.
Select the "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager".
And click the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" icon to open the
"Secondary IDE Channel" window. Then double-click the "Advanced Settings" tab.
Then choose "PIO Only" to uncheck "DMA" option.
but my Yamaha CRW-F1 burner isn't connected to any IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers ? my 2 hard drivers are on promise ATA100 controller and I have
Pioneer 16x on primary master on motherboard IDE0
LiteOn 32x CD-RW on secondary master on motherboard IDE1
what should i do ??
thanks
