hey guys, i really really need help, so any input is appreciated.
I just got a verbatim 40x12x48, it's a lite-on rebadge.
I burned around 40 and 50 cds and the writer went flawless at 40x. Then suddenly i donno why, my writer seem to have a problem, and whenever i'm trying to burn at even 12x, the writer somehow eats all my RAM and constantly having buffer underrun, so the buff under protection constantly kicks in. And now i can't even burn a cd in 5 minutes.
I also got a TDK 24x, and it burns flawlessly, and does not have any problem. I got 768 mb of DDR RAM on my computer, and i just recently defraged my HD. I'm running on AMD 1800+ and have a ECS VIA 266 Mobo. Anyone got any ideas?

I would put the burner in another computer and see if it still has a problem. If it does then the burner is probley bad. If the store you bought it will take it back, i'd trade it in for a different one. Good luck
