I was burning a CD lastnight with Nero after CD burned successfully, I couldn't eject the CD. So I manually eject the CD using paperclip. Now Bios and windows 2k pro does not recognize burner at all. If I leave IDE controller on windows 2K Pro takes very long to boot up. Eventhough the burner's power light is on but I couldn't open its tray by using its eject button. Is this burner toast? I am using same system configuration and software for months. I haven't change any hardware and software. I also noticed if IDE cable connected to Plexter drive then my Hard Drive light (LED) remains on and when I removed the IDE cable then the HD light turns off. In other words HD keeps working until IDE connector is connected to the drive. Is this give you some hint. I tried different IDE connector as well but no such luck. How can I find out if this HW failure or not. If this is the hardware failure, and I have to buy new Cd burner, which drive would you recommend. Thanks
