Now, I had the driver support Mt Rainier, how/which software allow me to use Mt Rainier? I have DirectCD, can it use Mt Rainier format?

Where do I get Mt Rainier Reader (like UDF Reader)?

Well, unfortunetlly the new firmware does not work with InCD 3.29.1; Or maybe the other way around...InCD doesn't work with the new firmware...so it's useless i guess.
Is there another Mt. Rainer compatible software ? I prefer freeware or shareware

Well I tried that also , but it's still not working.

I also have a friend with the same model, and it just doesn't want to format the re-writeable CD. The progress-bar halts after a couple of steps (in InCD & Write CD-RW!)

How fortunately fortunate, my Teac W524E with firmware 1.0D and InCD 3.29.1 can format a Verbatim High Speed CDRW 700Mb with Mt Rainier format flawlessly. I also can store some file (around 400Mb) with no problem.

I've hear some people fail to format a non High Speed CDRW media with InCD. So that may be your case.

I have a Hi-Speed 650 MB CD-RW , so maybe it's not working with 650 MB cds. Who knows... It should work though.

I have four Sony HS CDRW 650MB, and I've tried two of them and both has no problem with Mt Rainier format (InCD).

When you right click on the InCD systray icon, then select property, page setting, do you see a checkbox saying about "Formatting to CD-MRW" ?
Is that checkbox checked ?

The software use in this article http://www.cdfreaks.com/document.php3?Doc=75&Page=2 is called 'WriteCD-RW! Pro' version 3.04, provided by Mitsumi Europe.
Besides WriteCD-RW! Pro the installation disc also contains ReadCD-MRW!. ReadCD-MRW! allows you to take CD-RW discs which have been formatted on a Mt. Rainier-compliant CD-MRW drive and initialized with the Universal Disk Format (UDF) and read those discs on conventional drives.

Well, Nero provided one too.
If you open CD-MRW formatted disc on conventional drives, there's some file that can be read in 'normal' way, and one of the file is the CD-MRW Reader. It's called EasyRead if my memory serves me well.

After you install it, the CD-MRW contents will be available on that drives.

I don't know if WriteCD-RW Pro! MRW format is compatible with InCD. Former UDF format like DirectCD and InCD are incompatible.
But IMHO, it should be compatible because CD-MRW had standard written by many major companies.
