Windows 2000 + Nero = Buffer Underruns ? - 6/3/2002 1:52:00 PM

Hi,

I experience this strange Problem: With my Plextor 24/10/40 I get always 2 Buffer Underruns in Windows 2000. They happen always when the speed is changed to the next higher level.

This is a Nero specific problem. WinOnCD does not have this.

In Windows 98SE Nero works ok, too. So this cannot be something with the burner hardware or firmware.

Somehow the Win2k ASPI driver seems to have a too big latency. How can I fix it, so that Win2k operates without buffer underruns?

Thanks for any help, folks!!

Well, I've done a complete new install with the very latest 4-in-1 drivers and also the additional new ASPI driver from Ahead as well as your Adaptec patch for ASPI.

Now it seems to work quite well. I fear, I can't say what actually fixed it, the reinstallation or which of the drivers. But it works and that makes me glad.

Thanks again for your help, made anotherone happy!

bye, Xenoide

I would go to the FAQ section and read about the ASPI drivers, and I think there is a link there for the software as well...

I would recommend upgrading to the latest Nero 5.5.9.9, and send an Email to techsupport4@nero.com and ask for the WNASPI32.DLL file for the HP8200 model.

I'll send you a copy of this file, that you need to copy to your C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero directory.

This should resolve your issue.

Regards,

Craig
