hey everyone, i'm kinda new here and hopefully you guys can help...

i'm trying to burn an svcd w/ nero and i think i did everything right...but when i click on burn/write (i forget which it is), it takes forever to encode the video. forever! i was wondering, is this normal? i have tried to wait it out overnight and it didn't even burn. i got an error (i forgot what kind) and i haven't tried it again cause it would prob be a waste of time. any suggestions?

thanks

Sometimes if the mpg or avi you are trying to burn is not compliant then NERO will attempt to re-encode it to work on a DVD player. And yes this can take a long time depending on your system speed too. I normally use TMPGEnc to do the work for me. It is a bit faster, but it can be normal to take 8 hours or longer.

Visit www.cdrtimes.net too. Another great place....

You should upgrade to our latest Nero 5.5.8.0, as we have made improvements in this area.

What size file are you working with?

Also, our MEPG2 encoder is slower than some other Encoders, and we did so as we were after Quality over speed. (Though some other do just as well at higher speeds)

Regards,

Craig
