Itīs not allways easy to understand what Plextor and Adaptec means... I have just installed my new PX-W2410A - but I have problem with the software. I have upgraded the firmware to 1.03, and the Nero WinASPI driver layer for Windows ME. I run windows ME ver 4.90.3000 and Nero ver 5.5.7.2 .

When I run the Plextor Utility v1.13 it warns me about Windows ASPI (wnaspi32.dll): Adaptec ASPI fro WIN32 DLL, V1,0,0,0. And tells me that this should be updated!

I went to the Plextor site who refers to Adaptec for upgrade of the ASPI layer - over to the Adaptec site. In a note on their site they say that if I run Win ME I should not install the wnaspi32.dll.

I would be very greatful for a tip - should I or should I not update the Windows ASPI (wnaspi32.dll)?

The new Nero ver 5.5.7.2 seems a bit slow? Could it have anything to do with the above described problem?

Hey, don't be scared. I have the same OS as you and I did upgrate regardless what the web site says...everything works fine. Also if you want to use their aspicheck program, you have to change computer time before 2000, it is not y2k compliant.
