I bought a yamaha 2200E 20x10x40 last week and I have not been able to burn anything sucessfully. Everytime I recieve a "time out error" on the recorder. I use Nero 5.5. My HD is on the primary master, the other CDROM is on the primary slave. Ive read someplaces about the IDE channels and how your not supposed to have the HD and the recorder on the same channel, but I have no idea what they are talking about. Ive tried adjusting the recorder to the secondary master, but no luck. Burning a image to the HD doesn't help, just takes up HD space while not fixing the problem. Burning at a slower speed seems to delay the problem, but it just comes later on in the burn (which makes it a little more dissapointing). I have a AMD 850 mhz, 192 megs ram, running windows 98. I turn all my junk off that might interfere, I even take my brittney spears wallpaper off for burning. No luck at all. Somebody please help me out, I really dont feel like giving up and taking this thing back to the store.
