I purchased a Ricoh MP7163A-DP and I trying to use CloneCD to copy CDs. I have tried all the various option under the CD Reader screen, but all I get when trying to read the disc is failed to read sector xxx. I am running Win 98, the PC is a Intel P3 800, if there is any other info you need to help me please let me know. Can any help me sort this problem out please.

Oh, the CD-rewriter is installed as a slave unit (does this help)?
Many thanks

your recorder should be compatible with clonecd but try putting it as a master and enable DMA and try again if it doesn't disable the DMA, if that doesn't work try updating the firmware to a up to date version and try again. if that doesn't work try the most up to date version of clonecd 3.3.2.1 (at the time i wrote this) and try again if that doesn't work try the recorder in a differnt pc,if that does not work too your burner may be damaged ?! and in that case good luck with the Ricoh technical support.

are you sure that it isnt just safedisk copy protection on the cd. safedisk always brings up read errors its just part of the way safedisk works. if you havent finished burning the cds because of these errors let one finish copying and providing u have a reasonable writer it should work
