Hey all

I'll be getting a Plextor 24/10/40 USB2 soon
I was disappointed to read from the PLextor site however that Verbatim CDR Media doesnt feature in their "recommended" section.

What do you all think of Verbatim ? or can anyone suggest the
the "better" cdr media for all occasions

Yes as it seems Verbatim has lost its credability from the past and new 24x media is not reccomended by many manufacturers. I think Taiyo Yuden, Ricoh and Mitsui 24x media are good enough.

john, a LOT of the verbatim disks anymore are cmc's and not the old mitsubishi media they previously had used. Its getting hard to find good media any more :( I dont buy tdk branded disks anymore because they're all ritek's now, and i despise ritek media. Lately the only good disks i can find locally (in San Diego, Ca) is Fuji branded (aka tayio's), Sony branded (also tayio's) and the local comp usa had a PILE of unbranded mitsubishi's disks at 20 for $3 bucks, or 100 for $15 :) Needless to say, i bought a few hundred :)

I tried the overburning test with the verbatim 700MB CD-R and 99:00.00 wasn't enough for it! I have A-Open CRW 2440 FW 2.0.

I liked the dark blue 16x the verbatim datalife but the 24x green ones seem crappy .
