According to CloneCD's website, the HP9500i does support correct EFM encoding, a feature that is neccesary for copy SD2 games. However, this does not neccisarily mean that some games can be copied and played only on the HP9500i. ACcording to

When AWS is enabled, a Clone Cd feature designedd to aid burners that dont have EFM encoding, the HP9110i works but others dont see
