I upgraded my firmware to the 5S54 and now my drive is seen by windows XP as a cd-rom. I cannot use cdr-win or clone cd I get errors before the burn starts. I know its this firmware because before the flash everything worked great. Is there anyway possible to downgrade this firmware or try other firmware. I have used Nero and it seems to work.

try deleting the drive from the device manager and restart the comp and make it autodetect..
and when starting upp your burnign proggi try testing to have a disc (pref 24x cert) and thesoft will show the correct speeds
