I have a Starmax 4160 (Mac clone, running Mac OS 8.6) which has an ATAPI (IDE) interface for the CD-ROM. I fitted a W1610 as a direct replacement for the original CD-ROM and am using Toast 5 Titanium software. I need to update the firmware and then flash the ROM for it all to work. I have downloaded a file from Plextor titled W1610103.bin and I have the PX Update 150 file for the flash. But how do I physically do it? Could some techno genius please reveal all?
