I have burned about 260 Memorex CD-Rs thus far with no problems.

Well i have burned about 300 Silvercircle discs, and never had a problem with them, the only media i had a few problems with is that of BASF.

Maybe i can ask a quetion to. A friend of me gave me a spindel of that's Write discs. Is that any good?

John, I think you'll find a lot of people disagree with you there!!!

OC-Freak and I have used many hundreds of Prodisc media over the years and haven't had any trouble with them.

I agree with john Prodisc isn't as good as Mitsui,Verbatim,Ritek(high quality(Memorex,TDK) , Taiyo Yuden, Acer(don't underestimate thist last one)

Well each to their own, but I get much better performance in general from Prodisc phthalocyanine discs than Ritek on my LiteOn, Teac, Plex, Artec, Freecom/NEC, LG, BTC....

Ritek has a lot of production facilities which have big differences in quality. Most production lines of Riteks are makeing not so good discs.
Now the compannies I said use allways the High Quality disc's made by Ritek and which do perform in most test's better as most brands. However most other compannies like Philips,Basf,Traxdata,Arrita are using the other lines which do make the not so good discs and which are in most casses even more worse than most Prodisc disc's.
These are probally the ones you have used.
These days everything get's more complicated. Since for a few years ago you could just say by the manufacturer how good disc's where. But today with Ritek and Taiyo Yuden and most other manufacturers you can't trust that anymore.

So the best option is still to buy disc's which where made by the manufacturer. Acer, Mitsui, Verbatim, Kodak are 4 brands which allways score constant in most test's and still do make there own disc's.

bad news, verbatim is often using cmc magnetics on their spindles...the jewel cased discs are still mitsubishi...but its becoming harder and harder to find good quality discs.
