When a player says it will read DVD-RAM is that the same as DVD-R. If not, what is the format used in manufacturing.

Well is there software that convert dvd-r to dvd-ram? Is it something that will be outdated in the future say 2 years when all of these dvd recordables say will use dvd-r technology. Or is it happening now. OK I just need a little understanding about if DVD-RAM will still be used one way or another in the future? Thanks........

DVD-r is a one time record, and the DVD-RAM you can rewrite as many time as you want, they both DVD of course, you need a DVD Player and DVD software to see what on them.

Good Luck

So what you are saying is that DVD-RAM is a DVD-RW readable drive and not a DVD-R readable drive. I thought that all DVD-RW drives could read DVD-R formats? Just by judgeing the units CD-RW drives reading a CD-R format. Do you really know this fact? I NEED TO KNOW. Im interested in this topic.
