Your sarcasm is noted.
We are all aware of everything you are saying about new firmware, and I am one of those who get skeptical too. But theres a difference between constructive skepticism and starting a rumor.

One of the things you don't seem to notice is alot of people out there still keep naggin about the Plex 12x's, and they even come to the official clone clinic with that mumbo jumbo, however at least there someone tells them the right thing that there was no conspiracy theory in the first place.

You are obviously missing everything thats going on. My replies and replies from people who are aware of such things are only to stop the sensless rumors, which not only you benefit from, but other people as well.

End of Topic

quote:

i would think that any body who has still got the plex 12x

is well aware of the subject and surly knows all there is to know

that it never ever could make a 1/1 copy of sd2

you/we will never hear the last of it as people collect info on which
writer to buy and who to trust

every time a new f/w is released on the plex and the liteon 24x

people get nervy.[even when they know that they where myths}

To the angry people out there {cast your mind back to when you where
new and green to this subject}

thought this was a forum not a boot camp lol

no i think you have missed my point

you will never ever stop rumors,no matter which tactics you use.
i admit that going round in circles is boring and gets your back up,
but you might keep your hair longer by staying calm try tea instead of coffee lol.

there is so much old incorrect info on some web sites that newbys get caught up in it [i did ,but id like to think i have come along way since then]i remember ringing shops asking for a plex tla xxxx.doh]

got shot at dawn by stretch for daring to to bring it up
mind you he is 110% plextor.

Really?

If I've missed the point whats the point with Strech stopping the rumor with you?

Yuo see theres no one on this board like Strech and if no one says anything to anyoen here, everyone will fall for it.

The correct info I give here isn't for privileaged people that happen to 'buck up' on the clone clinic. Its for the others. That was the whole point from the begining. Therefore if anyone is missing any point its you for the first point that was made.

This is going waaaay off topic!!!!

I was one of the guys that tested loads(more than 10 drives at least) of plextor 12X drives with loads of different firmware versions. From tla 0000 up to tla 0307.
Some of them made backups of some SD2 games that worked in pioneer DVD drives but that's all.

The different firmware versions didn't change anything for me at all.

So stop this now!!!

you need to brush up on your p.r skills somoneoknow.

its no use blowing your stack over rumers re-surfacing

they will never realy go away. that is my point

and if they do then correct people in a polite manner

not shoot them at dawn.

thats why stretch and oc freak have gained respect by being helpfull
and polite.[stretch uses humer in his rants and apologies for them]

someoneoknow i never disputed your facts just the way you deliverd them.

ok im all finished now [you cant win when they say black is white anyways

This post seem a few days late... but can someone shed somemore light on the 'new' lite-on 24x10x40? Can anyone confirm a new internal mechanism or just a downgrade locked firmware? I'm more interested in the earlier posts than where this topic has ended up.
