Not the cheapest netbook on the block, but Dell thinks the Latitude 2100 wil be the perfect companion for the new school year.

Designed very much for purpose, the Latitude 2100 packs a rubberised design to withstand the wear and tear of a day at school, along with the option of an anti-microbial keyboard to keep those nasty bugs away from your little soldier. Those bright colours just might sell it as hip piece of kit too. On the downside (for the kids at least), a network light gives away any sly browsing you might be doing in class, unless you strategically place a book in front of it.

Aside from all that, this is very much your netbook of 2009, with that Intel Atom N270 processor, Wi-Fi, a choice of solid state or HDD storage and the option of going XP, Vista or Linux for the operating system.
