I'm wondering what I should expect from my stack of 80 min 16x TDK CDs. I bought a stack of 100 of them and so far my Plextor 16/10/40A using Nero 1.5.5.5 said it can't write to 3 of them (out of 10 that I have used so far.) What experience has anyone had with a large stack of CDs. I think they all should be good but is that never the case?

lol I sure hope you're not using nero 1.5.5.5 that must be a few years old , but Im sure you meant 5.5.5.1 , you should upgrade to 5.5.5.6 though . Some TDK media was Great like the ones made in the USA and Japan however the ones made in Taiwan or elsewhere arent very good. That usually hold true for all brands , better quality CDR;s coem out of Japan (Taiyo Yuden based) as opposed to the cheap taiwan brands liek ritek and prodisc. But anyways the plextor 16x is a great drive and all the CDRs should be write and complete without coasters unless maybe there is some conflict in your system or your burning incorrectly .

Yeah you're right Nero 5.5.5.1 -

I'm not burning coasters though. The problem occurs with a fresh CDR off my stack. Before it even gets started Nero says the CD in my drive can't be written to. (I had just taken it off the stack and placed it in my drive.) I'm just curious to know how many "bad" CDRs can I expect to have in a stack of 100.
