I solved my problem with the reading and writing of my CDs, and I can read my DVDs.  My problem that comes up is when I try to write to a DVD recordable and a DVD+RW.  The files that I have ready to be written disappear when I try the DVD recordable.  And when I put the DVD+RW, it has nothing in the folder and one of the instructions on the side says that I can erase the files (it's blank).  I have a Samsung TS-H552B.

Please respond to this post.  My husband wants to go out and get new one.  Is that necessary?  Or woould we be wasting our money because of a setting in the computer?
