Hello,
I'm sure this has been covered but I'm not sure what to search for.   I am running Windows XP - I'd like to copy my CDs as is - no downgrade, no compression.   Can I copy a CD directly or do I need to convert the files to WAV or something first?    Any recommendation on how to do this would be appreciated.   WHen I look all I see is 1k cda files.

You'll need some software, and yes, to do it without compression, it would be in wave format.

I can suggest a nice freeware program, being EAC, (Exact Audio Copy) which you can download here:

I'm interested in this too.  It sounds like you just want the data.  Simply name a folder the same as the label of the CD, and copy the contents of the CD into the folder.

I want to do the same thing, only to a separate partition, and copy the bootable CD to the partition and make the partition boot as if it were the CD booting.

Any help ?
