Hello Chaps.
I have a Liteon 16102B which will not accept any CDs, the green busy light flashes for a few seconds and the tray opens, I have read all your commends and found them very interesting.
I shall try one or two of your suggestions and see what developes.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Ralph

I have now tried the pin reset method on my drive which could not read any disc's, though it was burning fine.

However, I didn't short the two buttom left pins... But simply the two leftmost pins (left-top and left-bottom)... This was by accident - but it worked!!!
Now I'm back at being a happy customer - with the newest firmware and everything! ;o)

YES!!!

Cheers

Rolighed

Regarding all the problems that you and other people have had with there 16x10x2b writers as well as my self, I have to say that mine has suddenly started working perfectly. It will now burn discs and read discs no problem. The only thing that i have done is to run norton utilitys system check (not for this problem) and everything now is ok.
It may be a coincident but its the only thing that i can think of thats different.
