Problems with LG DVDRW GSA-H22L - 12/3/2007 5:06:38 PM

Hi, i recently installed a GSA-H22L and i have been having problems with it. The drive is present when i go to My Computer, but other than that it cannot read DVD's or write DVD's. I hooked up a generic DVDRW as the slave drive, and i hooked up the GSA-H22L as my Master Drive(End of connector). I installed firmware 1.02, but it still is not working. I know that some people on this forum got it to work perfectly, and if anybody has any information on what i should do, or how to help my situation, please let me know.

Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2
Version 2002
Computer:
Intel Pentium 4
3GHZ, 768MB RAM

Go into your device manager, and delete the IDE channel that the drive is on, then reboot.

Let windows reinstall the drive.... hopefully this should sort things out for you.

still did not work. I am able to see the drive on My computer, but it still wont read or write.
