Thread title says it all really. But I'm looking for a decent burner which can do the usual things of writing/reading DVDs/CDs aswell as CD+G Karaoke discs. Now I understand that all Plextor models support CD+G? but at a slighly higher price, so I was wondering are there cheaper alternatives?

I don't own one, but do LITE-ON's support CD+G?

Does your burning software support CD+G?  I thought only CDRWIN and Padus DiscJuggler could copy those... with a recorder that supported it of course.  I don't really have a need.

MusicMatch also supports it, CloneCD supports it as well.

OK... so these software will allow me to burn CD+G but don't I need the hardware to actually be able to play the CDs?

Well, I just googled and your best bet is probably just about any drive that reads/writes CD-Text will do it... that is just about everything these days.  Here is my source.  That said, Padus DiscJuggler is probably the product you want to invest in to do the job since CDRWIN does not code support for drives fast enough and I expect the Padus driver does not have these limitations.... Unless you want to buy the product they are pitching over at the link to my source....

EDIT - It looks like the drive they are selling at the source link is a NEC....
