I have two DVDRW drives, an Optiarc AD-7170A and a Lite-On SHW-160P65. Both of these drives frequently make two passes when using DVDShrink to rip a DVD. The .ISO file after the first pass is only a few kBytes. Both passes take the same amount of time. Any idea what's causing this?

Thanks.

Do you have Deep Analysis turned on?

I did have Deep Analysis turned on. I turned it off and the drives now make a single pass during the encoding process. Thanks for the tip.
