There has been "much" discussion on this matter, both simple discussion, and posted analytical posts, with results in the past on this matter. Most have decided that using an alcohol free pen, such as a sharpie is the best end result, without compromise to the disc. I as well as another Moderator, have used labels such as you are asking (myself Avery) without any known deterioriation, these discs I mention go back more than 5 years, and I have seen no compromise. My discs are stored in perfect conditions, constant 65 degree temp, no humidity, in original jewel cases, perhaps this has had some effect as well.... I think either way you decide, either choice is well, as long as a quality media is used. You can try searching on this subject using the search function, and you will find a whirlwind of debate, and posting on the subject.
