I have many dvd's burned both with my dvd-writer and dvd-recorder. What is the best way of storing those discs: individual (mini) dvd-boxes (1 to 6 discs), or nylon dvd-maps/wallets (20 or more discs)? The last is more convenient for series, but is it also a good solution in the long run?

There are a lot of opinions on this subject. So here is my personal...

I don't think discs should contact each other, so there must be a small gap between the recordable surface and the case or another disc...For this reason I also avoid dvd-maps/wallets. I keep my discs in dvd-boxes/sprindles but I seperate them with rings.

In the "original" jewel cases is the absolute best, in a temp/humidity controlled environment.  In the case of purchased on a spindle, they should then be placed in individual jewel cases.

Is a slimline version of a dvd-box or cd case also ok? Normal versions of a dvd-box or a jewel case take too many place. Is a rather soft plasic dvd-box a good alternative for the hard plastic jewel case or slimcase?

I think the size of the case doesn't matter. However I still believe that the recordable surface of the disc should not contacts the case, since there is danger to scratch it.
